Forging Maintenance Operator

Main responsibilities

SMB Medical SA, part of the Marle Group and specialised in the manufacture of orthopaedic implants, is looking for a Forging Department Maintenance Operator to strengthen our maintenance team and support our continued national and international growth.

• Perform mechanical, hydraulic and pneumatic maintenance on forging presses, hammers and furnaces
• Carry out preventive and scheduled inspections to reduce machine downtime
• Diagnose and resolve faults quickly and safely
• Collaborate with the production department and technical office to improve machine performance and reliability
• Update maintenance records and report technical improvement proposals

Requirements

• Previous experience in industrial maintenance, preferably in forging, steelmaking or heavy metalworking environments
• Knowledge of mechanics, hydraulics, pneumatics and basic automation
• Ability to read technical diagrams and mechanical/electrical drawings
• Knowledge of welding systems
• Practical proficiency in mechanical and manual work
• Team-oriented attitude, problem-solving skills and a strong focus on safety
